This is an old revision of the document!
Software I used, use or plan or using
| Program | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | ||
| Windows | Used | Used it before moving to linux. I still have it installed to play modded games, because one particular mod installer works only on windows. |
| Android | Using | I heard a lot positive opinions about Graphane os but i don't plan to move to it at the moment |
| EndeavourOs | Used | It's mostly just arch linux with different installer and some prepacked software. I really liked nvidia drivers installer that i forgot the name of. |
| NixOs | Using | I installed it to test, but i find it not suitable for python programmers. To start creating new program you ideally need to create new nix package with conda enviroment or pray that needed libraries are in nixpkgs. Their packaging system is a neat idea thought. Nix Evangelists leave me alone pls. |
| ParrotOs | Using | Wanted to test it because of my interest in cybersecurity. I has bunch of useful packages installed by default, but has obvious problem of old versions of packages due to being debian-based. |
| Self-hosted | ||
| Freshrss | Using | Rss aggregator. Has multiple useful features. You can replace your twitter or HN addiction with RSS addiction. |
| Dokuwiki (duh) | Using | Wiki system. Simple to get started. Used on this website. |
| Calibre | Using | The web version of popular ebook reading application. Uses the same library format. I have some ebooks saved here, but its not very useful for anything else than epubs. Like why aren't pdf downloads cached anyhow? I could have used some file server with thumbnails. That said its really useful for epubs. |
